A world reveal like no other

As part of the world reveal of the spaceship interior, hundreds of VR headsets were shipped to future astronauts, media and other key stakeholders and this allowed them to get an exclusive look up close with the spaceship. The entire Virgin Galactic spaceflight was represented, from arriving on location at Spaceport America, to meeting the pilots and finally what passengers could expect on their flight.

Building a high quality VR experience for the Oculus Quest was a challenge but the end result was met with great enthusiasm from those that experienced it first hand. Being able to go on an entire virtual spaceflight from the comfort of your own home was a brand new experience for many and proved the perfect way to showcase the spaceship’s design.

There was also the opportunity to go on a guided tour provided by the spaceship design team. Collaborative VR functionality was built for those selected to join a virtual session where they could ask questions of the team whilst everyone was standing in the same virtual space, highlighting key design features in VR - in particular the design of the seat.
